Costs about double compared to WFW5605MC, which would be OK if the machine lasted more than four years. Machine broke after only four years of fairly light use (family of three). Pretty much the entire machine started failing, including the main board (touch panel/control panel unresponsive) and the control panel failing, which then indicated an error code for the door (replaced), which then indicated the motor needed to be replaced. The machine worked well until it failed, and is much too expensive to replace or repair all key components (each failed component is $200-$300). Very disappointing and strongly warn all to avoid this product.

Both required a service call to fix, one of which took over a week to get the part for. The service company said the first problem was a "known issue", but I was never contacted about a recall or remedy. This has been an absolute nightmare. I would return if this weren't the only large washer paired with a large vent-less dryer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jamie12345 from Do not order from whirlpool! DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS! I ordered this washer and dryer set in April they were broken upon delivery and needed to be replaced. Sure it happens no problem. My problem is that it has been TWO MONTHS since I ordered and I still have no machines which is Only adding to the original cost of about 2,000$ since I have to go to the laundry mat every day for months now. I have called several times to inquire about the delivery of the machines and have been told different dates of delivery each time. I was also told that the machines were out of stock which clearly isn’t true because the site clearly states they are in fact in stock. If I would have known I’d have this much trouble just ordering a washing machine I would have just went to a store and picked up a floor model. You’d think I ordered a unicorn or the holy grail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Never_again001 from STAY AWAY!!! Bought this less than a year ago. It always has something wrong with it. We had to fix the electronic panel after 6 months (stopped working after 3) and it still doesn’t work the way it should. It glitches often and will stop a wash randomly. According to whirlpool this is our fault. Ive never experienced this with any other washer and none of my friends have this issue with theirs. It doesn’t drain the laundry either, I’ll open it up and there’s a puddle of water and the laundry is soaked. I cant drain and spin because they are delicates and the spin will damage the clothing and I can’t wring them because again, they are delicates. 90% of my clothes need to be washed on delicate cycle which makes my life very difficult. I bought this brand new thinking it would be at least ok considering how much it cost and I’m very disappointed and angry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Andrew from Started smoking not long after purchasing I bought this model 2 years ago and within only 2 years a piece inside that is supposed to last 7-10 years had already worn down and caused a situation where the washer actually started smoking. The customer service people are now offering me the equivalent of a coupon for another washer. It's a little alarming that they're not concerned with their products smoking after only 2 years. We used to be a proper country where blue chip companies like Whirlpool made products and stood behind their quality. Now they can nearly burn down your home and just offer a discount on a new unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by David from Broken after 1 year Washer will not power on after 1 year of use. Power button and control panel appears to be defective. Service appointment is 4 weeks out and parts for new control panel/board are on backorder with no ETA. When it was working, the machine did a good job washing clothes but did vibrate and make noise a lot. Really disappointed in quality of washer.
