Washing is an all day experienceIt is 7:51 on the east coast. I have once again been trying to get ONE load of clothes to wash. I started this load at 3:00 AM. This washing machine worked OK for the first year. We've had it a total of three-four years. Literally when a wash load starts and finishes with 30-40 minutes we celebrate. Normal wash time? 3-4 hours. I hate this washing machine is a phrase my husband and I use everyday. I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone. The dryer mate works OK, not great. It stops shy of completely drying clothes, which is normally fine as long as I am there to remove and hang up clothes, but on jeans and blankets, not such a good thing.

priced right, perfect fit for my familyI am very pleased with the ease and performance. Really takes the water out of clothes. It can handle king size comforter. The only not positive thing I would say is: Need to put your clothes in machine so the middle agitator is shown, sometimes this is hard to do and get your bulky items to fit. It maybe me, trying to overstuff, but the clothes do come out clean. With any of these water saving washers, they do make more noise then the normal washers. I recommend top load energy savers vs front load type because you don't have to worry about the seal getting pulled out with the clothes or mold in the seals. This machine is very easy to clean.

This product has water-saving features needed for 21st centuIt took several trial uses of the product before I could see how to get the clothes washed as clean as they should be, i.e., learning whether to choose high spin, heavy duty, etc. I still think it uses too little water.I also think the normal spin is too much, because I like to hang my clothes to dry. this product spins so dry that too many wrinkles remain that do not com out, even when drying in the dryer, and definitely when hanging to dry.I feel that the product does not clean well set at "normal " so I always set it at heavy soil. I am unhappy that the setting for low spin will not select. It bypasses my choice. So i have wrinkled clothes.

I like the washer, but it is really too small for my needs. This washer does a good job, but it is not for anyone that needs to wash larger or bulky items because it has a small tub. It has difficulty spinning with towels, terry cloth robe, bedspread, or throw rugs.It is very noisy when it runs but I am spoiled because my last washer ran very quietly. I got rid of a 1970's washer which was very noisy and assuming that a new one would be quieter. It isn't. I guess if it works, it doesn't matter how noisy it is.There is no setting for small, medium, or large loads just delicate, normal, bulky items, which don't particularly describe the size of the load.I do like the fact that it is efficient in water use .

I would not recommend this productThis washer is so loud-- to the point of annoyance. Our laundry machine is in the house, so we try to wash when we are not near it because of the noise. In addition, our old agitator style washer was better at cleaning the clothes. Using the recommended detergent amount from various brands of liquid detergent produced the same results-- it saturated the clothes with fragrance to the point that the residue irritated the skin. We have learned to use 1/3 the recommended amount. The only reason we continue to use this washer is due to the fact we cannot afford to replace it so soon after replacing our previous washer with this disappointment.

Excellent Energy Efficient WasherI absolutely love the Cabrio washer! It has already reduced our water usage significantly and water is gold in our community! The extra large capacity is great, clothes come out very clean and no agitator! Took a little while getting use to the sounds though, thought it was falling apart at first but now that I understand how it is weighing the load, locking the lid, and getting everything set for high efficiency with low water usage no worries. I only purchased the washer because our washer broke down. I would really love to get the wait until I save up the money. Whirlpool brand has always been a brand that I believe to be dependable.

Don't buy this type washer, you'll regret itI have to start each load at least 3 times. The washer never likes any amount I put in or any mix. It stops halfway through the wash cycle then it dumps all your expensive Tide soap and stops. So you rearrange the clothes, half wet, half still dry, and try again. Of course, the washer starts from the beginning because it has no option to continue. Finally after about an hour and a half or more -- 90 to 120 minutes to complete a 35 minute cycle. I HATE THIS WASHER and have no money to buy another one so I'm stuck. I did get it to complete a cycle by only loading 2 towels into it -- the washer liked that load and didn't stop half way through the cycle.

Lasted 16 monthsPurchased Whirlpool Washer WTW5640XW on September 15, 2010 and it died on March 5, 2012. The repairman just left, thank goodness for extended warranties, and said the machine needed a new motor along with several other parts and it would take one to two weeks to get the needed parts. He also said that this was about average for this washer. In one word this product is JUNK. My wife and I are retired and the washer does not get abused or even used daily and this is the best Whirlpool can do. My last machine, a Whirlpool, lasted 4 1/2 years before the transmission broke. I should have learned then but I surely have learned now. No more Whirlpools period.

Washer broke within six weeks of purchase. This washer is a real piece of junk. After 6 loads of laundry it broke. Had to have a service person come out and replace parts. It was down for two weeks. It is loud. It doesn't clean clothes very well. It has no agitator so the clothes are in the same position when the cycle finishes as when they went in. I don't think it rinses very good either. Too much eco technology and not enough water in the washer I assume. I bought the extended warranty since it broke so soon after purchase. I figure it will be not working more than it is working. Would never buy this washer again. If I could have gotten a refund I certainly would have went with another brand.

Easy to UseWarning: I do not see any "energy savings" with these new machines. Yes, they use less water, however the cycles seem LONG resulting in more electricity being used. After about 6 months I noticed that 2 of the lights are out. It is also louder than I expected. Not intolerably so, but louder than my previous machine and louder than I expected it to be. I have an open plan home, so this is a tad bothersome. It does seem to clean clothes well. They come out wrinkled & twisted a bit because of the low water & the way the new technology is, but you just need to shake 'em out before putting in the dryer and they come out nicely.
