No longer a Whirlpool fan from
Do not purchase this model
During our kitchen remodel November 2015 we purchased this model to match our other appliances. Although Whirlpool service people have made 5 or 6 visits to attempt repair of several problems all problems remain. Compressor is noisy, freezer drawer is difficult to open and at times does not close correctly (makes a load ratcheting sound when and if top drawer moves), condensation forms on top freezer gasket, ice dispenser holds cubes in chute that later fall on floor, it is impossible to fill a water bottle from the water dispenser and water dips after glass is removed. Additional issue is having to open both doors to access vegetable drawer.

Love the storage room!
Really love the extra room this refrig offers. I had a side by side LG previous to this one, and the refrig and freezer always seemed stuffed. Now I have a space for everything with tons of built in bins to keep things organized! Love it!!Now, a couple of things that Whirlpool could work on.... the noise level of the refrig. Its really loud normally while running. Much noisier than the LG (new model). Also, the ice maker is slow to make ice and really loud when dispensing. Sounds like a jet engine reving up! (Well maybe overstated a little... but you get the idea).Overall, I'm still glad we got it, but work on the noise level Whirlpool!

Problems with Refrigerator and Dishwasher
We have only been in our newly built home since 10/19/16. Our builder picked out the appliances and they are all Whirlpool except our old washer and dryer. Was happy to get new appliances but now I don't know. Repairman coming in 2 days to check out the dishwasher which took 2 hrs to clean the Thanksgiving dishes and the handle on the frig freezer door has a loose handle, the exterior filtered ice & water dispenser with a black interior area where you put the glass to get water & ice--drips down the front of the stainless steel door leaving spots & water marks along with the area for the glass leaves white stains.Very disapointing.

Lots of room!
I've had two of these fridges in 3 months. The first needed the starter relay replaced the day after it was installed. It was good for another 3 months, until I came home after being gone for 3 hours water was leaking out from the doors all over our brand new hardwood floors. The technician estimated that more than 2 gallons of water had leaked out. Whirlpool replaced the fridge with another unit, which has been operating well.Besides this unfortunate start, the fridge is very big. The freezer is great, especially the indoor pizza storage. The door shelves are deep, and the ice maker on the door is shallow and doesn't take up too much room.

fold back shelf a plus
I bought a house that was renovated and was pleased to see the builder spent a little more money on this model because of the ice maker, but even more pleased when I discovered that the shelf on the top left will slide back on itself to make way for very tall and large items. I can place my lettuce spinner on the shelf below and always have fresh clean lettuce at hand, or the extra tall bottles that won't fit inside the doors because of the corks. The ice maker bin conveniently pulls out of the inside of the freezer door allowing you to dump ice into a separate space located in the freezer drawer for when you need extra ice for parties.

Very nice easy to use French door refrigerator
Overall good. Noise that it emits can be annoying when it cools down. Water dispenser in the door needs constant wiping as it drips unless you hold the cup directly under and keep it there for a few seconds after it finishes dispensing water. I love easy access to everything in the unit. I would recommend new buyers consider the door water/ice dispenser feature. In hindsight I would take more inside door shelf space for my family and forgo the dispenser in the door. Lower freezer door/space is very nice. Stainless steel requires constant cleaning. This is only my opinion. My family loves the new refrigerator. I'm the one doing the daily cleaning.

Superb Household Appliance
A kitchen appliance rendering service w/ excellent performance using less energy lowering our electricity bill while keeping our semi-perishable and perishable food items perfectly fresh or frozen. Worth every money spent on this user friendly energy star rated French Door Refrigerator by Whirlpool. Water and ice dispenser comes very handy when needed. Digital touch screen controls are very easy to understand and use after familiarization with the user guide. Well designed refrigerator door seal keeps the right temperature inside requiring less energy and motor run. Very quiet motor and easy to clean exterior stainless steel doors.

Very spacious...features are better than expected
We shopped for several months before making this major purchase. We had minimal features that we wanted along with a maximum price. This product exceeded our expectations as far as features and the price was several hundred below our maximum budget. Fridge as lots of room with the ice maker located in the door. Nice deep adjustable shelves. Freezer compartment is perfect for our needs. The only thing we needed to get use to was not taking the glass away from the water/ice dispenser too quickly or it will spill out because the water/ice doesn't stop coming out until the lever is completely released. I would HIGHLY recommend this product.

Great capacity and functionality.
We wanted an appliance that matched the Whirlpool series of appliances that were already installed in our recently bought home. We wanted the matching look but were actually surprised to find that this fridge actually was the perfect fit for the space, had great features and the larger capacity we needed. Quality is backed up with Whirpool's strong service network. No need to shop for expensive imports that look flashy but don't really add much value. Feels good to buy an American brand not just for the sake of it but because it actually delivers the most value for the price. All of our large appliances are Whirpool for a good reason.

Great Purchase
I bought this refrigerator after reading several reviews and looking at several models. The only negative I have is the storage along the doors and if I remember correctly I believe that was an issue for some as well. The height in between affects placement of juices, milk, etc and if I adjust the shelves its either not enough or too much. The touch screen is awesome and the locking mechanism is a plus. We are not heavy shoppers, but we stock up for dinners usually going out a week and a half. This means that there is plenty of storage in the bottom freezer and the refrigerator. Overall, we love the product and have not had any issues.
