Could have put better seals on doors so they would align proI have had Whirlpool applances before and still have some. I have never had a reason to doubt a Whirlpool product. The EV209NBTN, 20 Cu Ft, 2door freezer was rated real high by Consumer Reports. The freezer I was replacing was a Whirlpool that lasted over 20 years. It took months of serching and finally I was able to order one from the factory and it was delivered a couple of weeks later from a store in a town about 30 miles away. They set it up and everything appeared to be working good until my wife told me that there was ice building up on the top of the lower door inside the freezer. I called the factory and was advised that they would not send a replacement but would repair it as soon as they could get a service person out. A week later we get a call from the service man and set up an appointment. He came at the appointed time and informed us that he would order the parts to fix it. Several weeks later he called and he had the part in. He came out and 'fixed' the seal and whatever else was causing the air leak and Ice buildup. Within a month the Ice was back and the seal gap appeared to be larger. Today I noticed there is rust along the space between the bottom of the top door and the top of the bottom door. We still have ice building up and we have to remove it. I found when I went to the Whirlpool website and tried to find the above mentioned Freezer it didn't exist anymore and they have a new model out. I hope everyone has better luck than we did with this new freezer. By the way you can't save much money when the outside air can get into the freezer all the time.
