Rated 3 out of 5 by Lynn from Works fine but the door is not straight. Compacter came bowed out on the one side and barely fit into the opening. I had the same compactor previously it slid right into the opening. Also, when the door is shut it is crooked. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mr. Bob from Not as Good as the Old One I bought this a few months ago to replace an old Whirlpool compactor. The old one was better than this new one. The old one had a switch that allowed compaction to stop at the most compact point. The new one has to be stopped manually. The old one had a filter fan to eliminate odors. The new one does not. The old one appeared to better constructed, using better materials. The new one seems cheap.

First compactor was broken on delivery and on the first try, it made a screeching noise and would never return to the up position. Returned it immediately. The secede unit worked fine but the left side of the drawer does not fit in tightly to the cabinet. It seems loose and there is a .5" - .75" gap that makes me wonder how long before it begins to fail. Our past unit lasted 30+ years but the quality of these two are definitely not the same. Would not recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Granny from New This is the second trash compactor I have bought. The first one quit working and the motor blew up. Replaced the motor and also the gear. Still did not work, so we decided to purchase a new one. Just hope the parts last longer than the old one did.
