Width

A line drawing of two range cooktops side by side and labeled with 24 and 30 inch width

24" width ranges are designed to maximize space in apartments, small homes and other compact spaces. 30" width is standard for full-size ranges and ideal for most kitchens.

Capacity

TBD

Oven cavity capacities range from 3.0–4.0 cu. ft. (ideal for cooking smaller meals), 4.0–6.0 cu. ft. and greater than 6.0 cu. ft. (ideal for cooking larger meals).

Type of Heating Element

A line drawing of a range coil element and radiant element side by side with respective type labels

Electric ranges can have radiant elements with a smooth, easy-to-clean surface or exposed coils that raise up from the surface of your stove and have a drip tray.

Range Type

A line drawing of a freestanding range, double oven freestanding range and slide-in range side by side with respective type labels

Freestanding ranges have rear controls that cover part of the backsplash. Double oven freestanding ranges offer more capacity and the ability to cook at different temperatures. Slide-in ranges have front controls and allow for full visibility of the kitchen backsplash for a more built-in look.

Oven Type

A line drawing with icons and labels depicting conventional ovens, fan convection ovens and true convection ovens

Conventional ovens have two heating elements and no fan. A fan convection oven circulates warm air to help eliminate cold spots, while true convection ovens add a third heating element while still circulating warm warm air.

Element Size and Wattage

Closeup of a red radiant element on a cooktop with three concentric rings labeled 6", 9" and 12"

The size of the element is measured by diameter, with larger elements providing more room for larger pots and pans. Higher watts generate more heating power for quick cooking and fast boiling.

Number of Elements

A line drawing of elements on an electric cooktop, numbered 1 through 5

More elements offer greater cooking space and flexibility.

Cleaning Method

A line drawing with icons and labels depicting manual oven cleaning, steam cleaning, adjustable self-cleaning and AquaLift® Self-Cleaning

Cleaning methods include: Manual Clean (no automatic cleaning cycle), Adjustable Self-Clean (high-heat cycle cleans in 2.5–4.5 hours), Steam Clean (loosens soils using water in a 20–50 minute cycle in between deep cleans), and AquaLift® Self-Cleaning (low-heat cycle cleans in under an hour with water).

FlexHeat™ Elements

Closeup of a red radiant element on a cooktop with two concentric rings labeled 6" Element and 9" Element

Get two or three elements in one with dual or triple radiant elements, which feature a 6" inner ring that’s great for smaller pots and pans and larger outer rings, 9" or 12", that make room for larger cookware.

Display Type

Side-by-side images of digital clock display showing the time of 11:56 in white with a gray background and a touchscreen with a white line drawing of a hand selecting an option
