1

In a large bowl, combine 1 Tbsp. chili-lime salt seasoning, 1 Tbsp. oil, 1 tsp. cumin, 1 tsp. coriander, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. If the steak is too large for a single layer, cut it in half. Add steak and turn to coat.

2

Set the air fry basket in place in your Whirlpool® Range. Close the door and program the Air Fry Mode to 425°F for 8 minutes for medium-rare. Preheat according to your range's air fry instructions.

3

Add the steak to the air fryer basket, cooking half at a time if needed. Cook, turning halfway, until done to your liking—about 8 minutes for medium-rare (135°F). Rest on a cutting board 10 minutes.

4

While the steak cooks, combine the remaining 1 Tbsp. chili-lime salt seasoning , 1 Tbsp. oil, 1 tsp. cumin, 1 tsp. coriander, and 1/4 tsp. pepper in a bowl. Add the bell peppers and red onion and toss to coat evenly.

5

Once the steak is done, set the air fry timer to 3 minutes and preheat at 425°F. Cook the vegetables in multiple batches, in a single layer until tender-crisp, about 3 minutes, adding time if needed. Transfer to a bowl, cover with foil, and repeat with the rest.

6

Thinly slice the steak across the grain. Serve with the vegetables, tortillas, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, cilantro, lime wedges if you like, and more chili-lime salt seasoning to taste.

FAQs

Find answers to commonly asked questions

Yes — your Whirlpool® Range's Air Fry Mode circulates hot air around the air fry basket to cook fried food with less oil than traditional frying, making it a great option for fajitas. Follow the step-by-step recipe above for great results.

Set your Whirlpool® Range to Air Fry Mode at 425°F. Cook the steak for about 8 minutes for medium-rare (135°F on a meat thermometer), then cook the vegetables for about 3 minutes at the same temperature.

No — cook the flank steak whole in the air fryer, then let it rest for 10 minutes before thinly slicing it across the grain. This helps the steak stay juicy and tender.

For optimal results, cook the steak first, then the vegetables separately. This helps prevent overcrowding and allows each item to cook at the right temperature for the right amount of time.

If the steak is too big to fit in a single layer, cut it in half and cook in two batches. This helps ensure optimal cooking.
