Rated 1 out of 5 by Ron@cc from alien invention I installed today and started first load. Then the noises started, humming,clicking, water pulsing and growling. Machine will not fill with water unless you have the lid closed, making it difficult to mix soap and water unless you use the faucet option. The lid locks and you must pause the machine to unlock it if the load is out of balance. You get the quick guide on how to use it nothing else. Instructions are not clear and whirlpool assumes you have alien master in tech in order to use this machine. Do not buy this one I will try and take this one back as I didn't graduate from alien MIT.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dutchman from Wonky machine Wanted a washer with an agitator that went in both directions like the old ones and also one that had the high water feature. Seems to get the clothes a lot cleaner. First load we did was still running over 2 hours. Stopped it and had to put it on the drain and spin cycle before clothes were ready for the dryer. Had it for 1 month, sometimes it worked correctly but the majority of the time it didn’t know when to stop, or it would stop at the right time but there was still water in the bottom. Service man came, spent about 2 hours on the phone with someone. They reset the electronics, and so far it’s working the way it’s supposed to. Have our fingers crossed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DesertDavid from Love the Whirlpool brand, but disappointed. We were looking forward to a larger washer, replacing a 16 year old washer with very few flaws. We have had 3 or 4 Whirlpool washing machines over our married lives and love the brand. Thinking we still liked the agitator feature of washers, we locked in on this one--large size but still agitator. Our experience is not bad, but the new washer is much louder than the old one. I am not sure that the wash is coming out as clean as the older standard smaller version with full size agitator. The wash cycle is longer than the previous washer. Overall, a little disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Aims1989 from Still unsure. I purchased this washer/dryer set July 29th. Picked up about two weeks later. For the first week it worked amazing!!! Then all the sudden it started making loud squeaking noises, and I mean loud! It wouldn’t happen the entire time it washed a loud but it would happen every load, big or small. Then it got stuck on “sensing” for over 2 hours and I had to completely turn it off for it to work again. I don’t want to give it a completely bad review because I may have just gotten a defective machine. I have someone coming to look at it on October 5th so we shall see!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Abbie2001 from Whirlpool Top Loader I bought my new Whirlpool Top Load Agitator Washer last month and I am very happy with it. My clothes come out very clean and fresh smelling. All the noises it makes is normal as it goes thru all the cycles. I don't mind them at all. I stayed and watched it through the whole first load and there were no issues at all. I use all the different cycles for the kinds of loads that I am washing and it works perfect! I like that I can keep it open too so that it can air out and dry between loads. I don't use the dispensers as I use pods and then use dryer sheets in my Whirlpool Dryer. Another dependable Whirlpool Top Load Agitator Washer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rob1956 from Replaced a 15-year-old Whirlpool We've had the machine about 3 weeks now, replacing a Whirlpool we'd used for 15 years. While we don't really have "complaints" with the washer, I surely do wish we could've replaced our old one with an identical machine. Two notes. First, we aren't really comfortable with a sensor gauging how much water we use. Losing that measure of control bothers us. Secondly, the basic wash cycle takes too dang long, about 15 minutes longer than our old machine. We're still in the honeymoon phase of ownership with this washer, so I reckon we'll eventually get used to it. As long as the expected Whirlpool quality remains constant, we'll be okay with it, I guess.
