Rated 1 out of 5 by Roque from Terrible Experience – Don’t Waste Your Money I’ve had this washer and dryer combo for only a few days, and it’s already been a nightmare. It worked fine the first day, but on the third day, while washing a blanket, the machine stopped mid-cycle and filled with water. The lid locked, and it was stuck on “wash.” After turning it off and back on, I managed to drain the water and remove the blanket — but after that, it completely stopped working. It’s been only four days since I purchased it, and I already have to schedule a technician to come out. Very disappointing! This machine has serious sensing issues and is unreliable. I absolutely do not recommend this product. I wish I had never bought it.

We called Whirlpool and a warranty tech came out to repair it. He told my wife he would replace the defective part or bend the metal aperture that the latching mechanism uses to hold the door closed. Wife wife was there when he came and she went along with his suggestion, if I would have been there I would have had him replace the defective part. We will have to call Whirlpool again to have another warranty tech come out and replace the defective part along with the part he bent because the door is still hard to close. We are not satisfied.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JulySD from Brand new out of the box and BROKEN! Save your $$$ I purchased the Whirlpool 5.2-5.3 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with the Removable Agitator at Home Depot, and it has not worked since Day 1. Instead of replacing a clearly defective "lemon," Whirlpool is forcing me to wait for a technician and multiple replacement parts. It is unacceptable that a customer is expected to settle for a refurbished experience on a brand-new, expensive machine. The customer service process for setting up repairs was a total hassle. They would rather hold a customer hostage with a broken machine than do the right thing and provide a replacement. Avoid this model and this brand if you value your time and sanity.

The detachable agitator is full of mold and has to be cleaned often to keep the smell from getting in our clothes. I use the affresh washer tabs and clean cycle often. I had contacted support about these issues in March. We got a link to a blog to help with these issues. Occasionally the agitator does not work properly and will make popping noises. The washer has also shut down in the middle of a cycle for unknown reasons. It's very disappointing to have paid so much and have such a poor experience.

The last Whirlpool I had, had the spin feature wack out and I hated it because it didn't have the agitator or fill up with water which caused my clothes to rip and not be clean since they were rarely covered in water. I always had to wash them on the bulky cycle to use the deep water feature. Imaginey disappointment when I had to search and find a new washer and got this one, thinking it had a water selection button that allowed the tub to fill up to "high" since it has that selection option, only to find out it doesn't fill it or cover the clothes again and I can't use the machine on any selection but bulky, AGAIN. And even then, it doesn't fill all the way.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Demetrice M from Not the 5 star Whirlpool of the past I really like my washer and have bee pleased with it but it hasn't even been a month and it's already making a horrible noise. I called to put in a work order because I was told that someone would be out in 2-3 days and my extended warranty said it was still under the manufacturers warranty so I have to go through Whirlpool for repairs because it sounds mechanical. Whirlpool is closed on the weekend and only works M-F 8am - 5pm so I put in an online repair and my appointment is a week away and in the meantime my washer sounds like it's falling apart and takes an hour to wash and spin a medium load of clothes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TJ1609 from Beautiful to look at but noisy And lacks options. I've had this machine for about a month and it's beautiful to look at but it's extremely loud. A tech came out to check it and said the noise is normal although he didn't run the machine to hear the actual noise. I do wish I would've chosen differently. It doesn't have features like the inside faucet or a spin only option. Be sure to check the options because it doesn't have many options that most newer machines have. Unfortunately, evidently I'm stuck with the machine for a while. I did get the matching dryer and I have no problems with that other than the door seems cheaply made and is very loud to open and close. My last machine was a Samsung and after this, that's what I will go back to.

I have to put it on drain and spin for it to spin out the clothes. It isn’t pulling in the fabric softener. I have contacted whirlpool suppose to have an appt set up for today, so we shall see how this goes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Garbage from Poor Excuse for a Washing Machine I bought this product 2 months ago. It has already quit working and has completely locked up and will not fill or run. I have now been without a washer for nearly two weeks because when I called Whirlpool, they supposedly set up repair appointments, however, they have no access to any appointments so they were never set up. I am completely disgusted with this machine and am sorry I purchased it. I am retired and in my 70’s. I don’t have money to go buy something else. I had hoped this purchased would last me a while. I would never recommend a Whirlpool anything to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Abragg2023 from The best one you can get My washer of 17 years (which was a whirlpool) just broke down so instead of trying to track down the part i needed, i decided to purchase a new one. I went to Lowes and realized most are now digital. Staying away from digital, i bought a GE. I was so amazed at how slow the agitator was. The only thing that I liked about it was that it filled the tank with water before it started washing the clothes and it had knobs. Other than that it really didn't get my clothes that clean. I immediately called to have them pick it up and purchase a new one. The next one I went with was a Maytag and even though the motor strength was more it was even slower and louder than the GE I purchased. I scheduled for that one to be picked up immediately as well. Lastly I went with the whirlpool that I looked at at the beginning and should have probably purchased the first time. It's super quiet, my clothes smell clean and it's super fast. I just hope the digital part lasts. I don't understand why the new ones dont fill up more than half way with water. Why make a big tank? Ive had it for 3 weeks and so far its more like my old one was.
