Capacity (Cubic Feet)

Measured in cubic feet, laundry appliances with more capacity are ideal for larger families.

Dryer Type

Electric icon with a lightning bold, Gas icon with a flame, Heat Pump icon with a lightning bolt and two circular arrows, and Condensing icon with swirling lines and three circular arrows

Electric dryers dry clothes using heat generated from electricity. Gas dryers generate drying heat using gas as their fuel source. Heat pump dryers recirculate warm air generated using electricity. Condensing dryers recycle air and capture moisture generated from their electric drying inside the unit instead of using an outside exhaust vent.

Control Type

Line drawings and labels illustrating Knob Controls, Intuitive Controls (with Towels and Normal as the options selected), and Touchscreen controls with a hand selecting an option

Knob Controls let you select the dry cycle by spinning the dial. Intuitive Controls let the dryer guide you to the right cycle combinations and customize your own cycles in just a few touches by giving you the option to choose what you are drying and how you want it to be dried. Touchscreen Controls provide instant access to settings you use most.

Wrinkle Shield Option

One icon showing an iron and a minus symbol with the label Wrinkle Shield™ Option and another icon showing an iron with a puff of steam with the label Wrinkle Shield™ Plus Option with Steam

Help keep wrinkles from setting into clean, dry fabrics with the Wrinkle Shield Option, while the Wrinkle Shield Plus Option with Steam uses steam to help further prevent wrinkles from setting in.

Dryer Sensors

One icon with a water drop and stopwatch labeled Moisture Sensing and 2 Sensors, and other icon with a water drop and clock labeled Advanced Moisture Sensing and 3 Sensors

Dryers with Moisture Sensing use two sensors to measure moisture and temperature, helping prevent overdrying by automatically stopping the cycle when the load is dry, and dryers with Advanced Moisture Sensing have a third sensor for added protection.

Sanitize Cycle

Icon showing three bacteria with a line crossed through them

The Sanitize Cycle uses increased temperature to eliminate 99.9% of common household bacteria.

Bacteria tested were K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus.

Steam Refresh Cycle

Icon with a puff of steam and a circular arrow

Release wrinkles with the Steam Refresh Cycle. It uses water and heat to get clothes ready to wear without rewashing.

Long Vent Design

Line drawing of a dryer with a highlighted vent extending upward from the back and a two-sided vertical arrow

Enjoy great drying performance even when your space requires a long vent system. Ideal for apartment or condominium living, the 160 ft. vent gives you installation flexibility when you need it.

Stackable

Line drawing and labels of a Dryer stacked on top of a Washer

Free up room in your laundry area by stacking your Whirlpool® Washer and Dryer using a Factory Certified Whirlpool® Washer & Dryer Stacking Kit.

ADA Compliant

Icon of a person using a wheelchair

ADA appliances meet the Standards for Accessible Design specified by the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide equal access to all. Among many things, ADA Compliant dryers have exterior operating parts, such as door handles and dryer opening, that are located between 15 and 48 inches above the floor. Dryer doors must allow users to open and close doors with one hand, without tight grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist. Force required to open and close the doors must be no more than five pounds.
