Great Freezer!!
I have had this freezer for several years and it is a great addition to my appliance collection. It has lots of room, defrosts itself and lets me know if the temperature inside has a problem. So far, so good!!!

How to check temperature
I just got this freezer and while it does have an alarm if it gets too warm, is there any way to tell what the actual inside temperature is? Is has the snowflakes and it came set on the middle snowflake. There is one to the right to majke it colder but I don't know if that is necessary.

Design flaw: don't expect any help unless you pay...
this is a good freezer when it works - when it doesn't, don't expect any help from whirlpool unless you are willing to pay for it at $100/hr.problem: design flaw causes a giant ice build up on the bottom of the freezer (a real glacier) - probably due to a plugged defrost drain. so how difficult should it be to unplug? not very if you can find a good schematic showing where to go and what to take off to get to it. unfortunately, that doesn't exist.so the answer is? why, call your friendly repair man...! B...S...anyway, we were traveling for 5 weeks and returned to find the top three levels had melted down after the ice built up had shut the system down.good luck...

Not what I expected from Whirlpool :(
This freezer does not have a door alarm, if you have children do not buy this freezer. If it is not shut properly it will build up with frost on the evaporator panel. We owned this freezer for about two years and we have had to manually defrost the freezer about 5 times.

My dream come true!!
Always wanted a freezer but as a single person didn't feel the need for one. My daughter & grandson moved in with me and she purchased it for me. We now can take advantage of store sale items...save money. When I cook now I double my recipes and freeze the leftover...don't cook as often, love it. Looking forward to the holidays when I can cook ahead and freeze and not spend as much time in the kitchen!!

Just what I was looking for.
I have been looking for a freezer some time now to replace the small freezer we had. I was very specific on what I wanted. I was looking for a frost free, adjustable shelves with a few baskets. Found it with this Whirlpool.

So Far So GOOD!
I have only had this freezer for about a month; but, so far so good!! It seems to be doing great!!!! I LOVE that I can actually hear it sealing back after you open the door then shut it. That means a lot to me that the seal is working and the cool air is staying INSIDE the freezer! Hopefully it will last me another 20 years!
