I spent months researching what I wanted, how it would look/work, and what was in my budget. Spoke with friends and family about what they had, and my dad has a unit almost like this one and he loves it. I took my time reading the installation instructions and making sure all of my measurements were correct. After doing all of the prep work it took less than 5 minutes to install the unit. I love it. I have only one complaint, but that is an older person issue with the volume of the "beep". Probably something I can change to make louder, just have to take the time to do it.

And as far as operating instructions, there basically isn't any. It advertises a lot of features, but there's no instructions on how they work. I've gone on Whirlpools' site (as it states in the installation manual) for more detailed operating instructions. There's nothing there. Just the same as what you get in the box. But like most things, I guess you figure it out. Also, the melting feature didn't work out too good for me. Put a stick of butter in it (and set it as specified on the inside of the door). About 30 seconds later, I had liquid butter. That'll teach me to not monitor it for the first time using it. Other than that, it seems to work like it should. And for the price I paid, I'm ok with it. In the future I'll see about upgrading the lite bulb, eventhough that probably entails taking the microwave apart.

However, there are two areas of concern that I have: There is very little explanation regarding the use and function of the various features. Also, the interior is very poorly lit and needs to have a brighter bulb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nancy1202 from Solid Choice Large capacity. Has effective sensing features. Replaced 15 year old Whirlpool microwave during kitchen renovation. The only reason this one receives four stars instead of 5 is that it has symbols instead of the actual words scrolling across the screen for functions such as defrost, reheat, etc. The codes are listed at the base of the microwave when you open the door. My kitchen is in the center of my house so must have an above the range microwave as I cannot vent to the outside. This is a solid choice.

I LOVE that it has a shelf so you can cook two different things at once — and they actually cook evenly, just like if they were alone. The cooking options are super easy to use, with no guessing or confusing buttons. It’s also really quiet, which I love (I’ve honestly forgotten I had something in there a few times 😂). It’s a little pricey, but totally worth it for the quality. You can tell it’s built to last!

The buttons don't always respond when pressed and you can't monitor cooking because it's so dim inside. It's UN-intuitive to operate, and if you can believe it, there are NO OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS. Only a useless "Quick Start Guide" and an "Owner's Manual" that only covers installation and cleaning. Same thing on Whirlpool's web site, no instruction manual! Does the Popcorn button uses its moisture sensor to shut off automatically at the last pop? There's no way to know, except to try it. Here's an example of its dumb operation: Power Level cooking: 1 Press Power. 2 Enter a TWO-DIGIT number. 3 Wait for the display to inspect and convert your entry to 10, 20, 30...100. 4 Press Power AGAIN to enter minutes and seconds. How's that for intuitive? 5 Press Start

I bought another whirpool again to replace it. sure hope this one is better. handyman suggested to get the same brand for the replacement. I I had other microwave and never have any issue for owning since 10, 20 years ago. the registration for warranty was useless unless you pay monthly fee. Unheard of.

All requests I have made to Customer Service and Reviews have fallen on deaf ears. Please is there some information regarding how to use the features of my new microwave oven. The quick start guide just does not do the trick. As the manufacturer you have got to do a better job of informing the users of all its features and how to use them. I'm disappointed in you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Filmore24 from Overall, a solid microwave Overall, it's a nice looking and well functioning microwave. A few little points to note: 1. Installing - the install template is printed on the outside of the box. Really? Couldn't spring for a piece of paper? I spent 5 minutes delicately cutting along dotted lines, only to have the template off slightly when I did the install. The whole process is a bit confusing, but logic prevailed and otherwise, install was fine. 2. The display - the blue numbers are hard to see from across the room in daylight (and even at night). 3. Stovetop light - wish it were brighter and a different color temperature; I will change bulbs. 4. On my old microwave, when I set it to cook, I could set the power by selecting a single number (4 = 40%, etc.) Not on this one; you have to hit 40. Dealbreaker? No. But a change in habits, as the microwave won't start until you punch in both digits. 5. The interior - not sure how I feel about the gray interior at this point. I find it hard to see food splatter and clean it quickly. Looks good in the kitchen and I am happy with the purchase.
