Rated 5 out of 5 by Jellhh from Perfect for small spaces We recently did a full kitchen remodel and got rid of a large over-the-stove microwave, replaced by a convection steam oven. However, my husband wanted to be able to reheat a plate of food quickly, so I gave in to his microwave request, provided it would take up a minimum of counter space. This unit fit the bill perfectly. No local retailer seemed to carry it, but I did some on-line hunting and found an appliance store that could get it for us within a couple of weeks. It does what it needs to do and I would definitely recommend it where space is at a premium. (When people see it on the counter, they ask if it’s a tv!)

I bought this microwave for several reasons, the most important being that, because of its round back, it would fit in the corner of my countertop. Yes, I paid more for it than others this size, but I regained a couple of square feet of counter space, space that is pretty nice to have on holidays when the entire clan is here! No other company makes a microwave in this configuration. It cooks as well as the 1,500 watt unit it replaced and the controls are intuitive. A large dinner plate fits the turntable. This was an important issue as well. Of course, "brand" is important. I trust two appliance manufacturers, and Whirlpool is one of them. I could not be happier with this little microwave.

Great space saving design.I've never needed to microwave anything that's too big to fit in it.Less powerful than others (heats slower) but that trade off is worth it to me for the space savings and good design.Beeping sound is a less pleasant than it could be.The button design is pretty good - I don't miss having a dial or number pad to set the cooking time.Biggest problem is that the plastic covering the buttons is wearing off - which makes it look pretty bad. I've not particularly rough with it, and not a very frequent user, so this is definitely a design or manufacturing flaw.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Patti from Wait till you need to replace the lightbulb, then review it I bought this microwave in 2011 and it still works, for that, I am grateful. But the lightbulb went out shortly after I bought it. The users manual shows the "location" of the lightbulb. No mention of a replacement bulb part number or how one might go about installing it. Online help says if no light, replace the lightbulb. There is no access to it other than removing the housing with a special screwdriver that most people do not have in their home. My next microwave will be one that doesn't require an appliance dealer to replace the bulb. Yes, I recommend this microwave to a friend who doesn't mind cooking in the dark.

It takes up a lot less space than my previous one and cooks better too!!!! It cooks more evenly. Sometimes it takes cooking only 1 minute or 2 more but it heats all sides of a frozen dinner evenly unlike my previous microwave. This microwave is 750 watts and my old one was 1100 watts but you will never get me to change back!!! One or two more minutes I can handle than some areas overcooked or some being cold!! Thanks Home Depot also for installing it they delivered it and brought it in and set it up for me!! And thanks whirlpool for such a great product!!

It eventually developed Alzheimers: the turntable would revolve whenever it was plugged in and you had to consciously program & hit "power" to activate any cooking. Strangers were helpless trying to use it, but it was awkwardly functional. It's a small micrwave, so doesn't have the power of larger countertop or built-in microwaves...no surprise and it gets the job done...just takes a little longer. We liked the size and utility of the microwave (it's at our lake cabin), so didn't hesitate to purchase again, particularly at this pricepoint. Keeping our fingers crossed.
