Rated 1 out of 5 by Ss100 from Terrible ceramic cooktop The cooktop is impossible to clean!!!. I have scrubbed and rubbed with the recommended cleaners. Terrible!!. I previously had a ceramic cooktop for over 15 years and it was very easy to clean and when I replaced it was still like new!!. This ceramic top by Schott Ceran is a nightmare. The cooktop cooks well but whirlpool could find a much better ceramic cooktop.

I am now on my 3rd unit in which I waited 2 month to receive. It arrived 12/26. I used it 12/28 only to notice smoke coming out of the knobs, which I videoed. Long story short it is 1/20 and the brand new unit is already receiving repairs!! This is a fire hazard in my opinion, I don't feel safe using it and with whirlpools major recall it might go to show they might not have the safest products either. I am now stuck with a cooktop I do not feel safe in any manner having in my home. It simply does not rest well knowing this is the third unit and right out the box it is having issues. The problem is the store won't take back an appliance (which is why I am on my third defective product) and the hole is cut in my counter. AVOID THIS FIRE AND/OR Electrical Nightmare.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anon1234 from Surface hot light always on We have had a repair tech out twice (coming a third time in a few weeks because that was availability) for a problem with the surface hot light. First tech visit: needed parts so rescheduled for a week later Second tech visit: discovered needed different parts so rescheduled TWO weeks later. My mom has the same cook top and after a year her surface hot light went on. So I am "lucky" I am in my 1 yr warranty that it is doing it now. It is just always on, nothing notably wrong other than that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nick45 from Love Whirlpool But Hate Cleaning It! I ha e had this cooktop for a couple months or so. The cooktop itself works good and like it is supposed too. No issues with that. But keeping it clean is absolutely horrible. Touch it and there is fingerprints, wipe it and there is streak marks. I am constantly cleaning it, even when it hasn't been used. You can't just wipe it off. You have to have 2 microfiber clothes. One wet one and one dry to buff it out. I love whirlpool appliances but if I knew how hard this one was to keep clean I would not have purchased it. This is the 1st time I have regretted ever buying whirlpool. I honestly wished I had my old one back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Papa Tom from Beautiful addition to our Kitchen This cooktop adds a whole new look to our kitchen. It is quick to warm up, cooks foods much easier than before. I think it heats up food faster. It has that Whirlpool level of performance. But 1 thing I would change. The knob that works the dual element in the lower right corner has the Hi and Lo functions reversed. All other 3 knobs go from High to Low as you turn them clockwise. But the dual element knob goes from Low to High. But Whirlpool did not ask me ahead of time... Installation was really easy...just remove the old cooktop and pop in this new one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Preetam from DO NOT BUY! SAFETY HAZARD!KNOBS BREAK WITHIN 6 MNT DO NOT BUY!!! SAFETY HAZARD!! One of the worst appliances I have used from Whirlpool. I opted for this as I thought whirlpool Is known for making safe products. Within 6 months of use the knobs on this cooktop started to act up. Even after bringing the knob to OFF position the cook top would remain on. Once it seems the cooktop was on for the whole night until we realized the next morning. On calling the warranty department the contracting company comes to check on it and said WHIRLPOOL won’t do anything as this is a “cosmetic” issue. Are you kidding me?? This is a functional problem. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD if you cannot turn the cooktop off or on when you want to. The contractor said this is a know issue and he was kind enough to provide a hack of removing the known and tightening the stem with a zip tie. I was flabbergasted by seeing this. It is totally unacceptable. At least the contractor tried and the hack worked for a month but the knobs broke down again!! I will be complaint to the BBB and every other safety agency I can find. I will never every buy any WHIRLPOOL product and advice the same to my friend and family - because this company won’t stand behind their warranty and product safety.
