I bought this and it made my water taste absolutely horrible. Its better drinking it unfiltered. I don't know if the filters were defective or what, but im unhappy that I spent close to $100 and both filters have to be thrown out

Works but with issues
this is the second time I have ordered this filter. The first time, everything was fine, though it did not last long.
This second one, however the indicator message always says that it needs to be replaced when using the water or ice, but when completing the signal goes away.

The Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Filter 1 (WHR1RXD1) is a solid choice for keeping my drinking water fresh and clean. It’s easy to install, and I noticed an immediate improvement in water taste. I appreciate that it’s certified to reduce 99% of lead and other harmful contaminants — that’s a big plus for my family’s health.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that finding the compatible model took a bit of extra effort, and the filter itself feels a bit pricey compared to some alternatives. Still, the quality and peace of mind it provides make it worth the investment. I'd definitely recommend it for Whirlpool fridge owners.
