Going from a dryer from the early 2000’s with loose bearings and a whole host of other issues, this dryer has been quite the upgrade. Though, perhaps standard on many other dryers, the temperature options are wonderful on this machine and it really seems to handle my more delicate clothes exactly how I want it to. The sensor-dry is the nicest feature and, though not always perfect with bulkier items, it’s nothing 15 more minutes on a timed-dry can’t fix. (There is a bulkier items option, I just don’t often have enough bulky items to dedicate a load to them)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Horribly Unhappy from Horrible dryer I have had nothing but issues with this dryer since it was delivered on 12/10/19. It goes into lock mode whenever it feels like. The power shuts off completely and the only way to get power back is to unplug the dryer for at least 5 minutes. The front panel that sets the time for drying does not work all the time. Do not purchase this dryer unless you want a huge headache! Hopefully no one else has these issues. Plus the drying time is much greater than the dryer time on my old Whirlpool. Yesterday, the dryer stopped working and I had to use my neighbors Samsung dryer to dry the towels. It was much more efficient. If you want more info, please contact me.

The installers then ran it for t a few seconds to show me that it worked before leaving. The next day I tried to dry my first load, at 9 minutes in it stopped and showed an error. I called the store I purchased it, they said to call Whirlpool. Whirlpool’s service came out ordered parts came back installed parts, still didn’t work. 3 weeks after receiving I finally got the store to replace. Then a week later the brand new washer broke. It took Whirlpool multiple service calls and 3 months of a broken washer to finally agree to replace! This set is junk!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Julie from Not happy The electronic keyboard panel is absolutely awful. Only had to weeks and have to push buttons numerous times. The steam button feature rarely works. I am goiimg to insist they replace it. Many times the clothes aren’t dry with any sensor settings even on “most dry” option. My 20 year old Kenmore (Whirlpool) worked better but unfortunately did not have part to repair. The controls are not intuitive in any way. 321 countdown to start is the most ignorant thing. I’m disappointed especially for the cost. Whirlpool needs to step it up for appliances that are this expensive. It’s not like the dryer was a low end model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ESchuch from Nice but Very Noisy Nice features, once I learned how to use them, but the dryer is very noisy. Even when empty, it makes a loud, rhythmic and constant knocking noise throughout the cycle - loud enough to hear from the other end of my house. I have confirmed that the dryer is level and is not touching the washer or walls surrounding it. It is brand new, so not likely to have a worn belt. The installer stated that this sound is normal for all dryers, though this is not indicated in the online manual or written documentation that came with the dryer. My previous dryer was an old Kenmore (made by Whirlpool). The only noise made by that dryer was the humming of the motor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mike from Noise after the dryer heats up The dryer had a noise after it heats up. Sounds like a zipper on an article of clothing hitting the drum. Also the control panel works intermittently. The repair guy said whirlpool had fix for the drum noise so that was repaired. The repair tech said the control panel issue is caused by the steam option venting seam too close to the panel. Apparently whirlpool is aware of the problem but currently has no fix so he replaced the panel but can’t guarantee it want happen again. I am not happy about this since the steam option is one of the reasons I bought this dryer. I have been a long time whirlpool customer and hope they make this right.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not happy already used! from Misrepresentation I bought this expensive dryer because it was advertised as having the steam cycle. When it was being installed and I asked about the steam feature I was informed the steam kit did not come with it and I needed to purchase and install it separately!! Surely, the steam kit should have been included in the original purchase? I cannot find information on what I need to buy and how/who to install. If I had known this to be the case I would not have spent $1,200 on what is to me an average dryer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Andrew from Blower motor issue/fire hazard whirlpool wont help I bought this unit 3 years ago and every 2-3 months I need to have service come out because of violent vibration (9 service calls for the same issue). The blower motor is collecting lint and causing scary vibration and loud noise. Also it’s a huge fire hazard and safety issue (dryer collects lint even with vacuuming out lint area after every use) and whirlpool will not fix or replace. Scary, could cause fire. Very disappointed in this product and in whirlpool for not standing by their product. I’m forced to buy a new dryer because of fear of fire - whirlpool doesn’t care. DO NOT BUY.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rhonnygirl from Average dryer, nothing exciting The dryer has been a disappointment so far. I replaced an old Whirlpool washer and dryer set I had for twenty years. I had high hopes for the new dryer. I have used the sensory setting and each time they were still wet items in the dryer when the timer went off. If I use the timed setting as I had on the old set, all the clothes were dry. It's disappointing that the features I were attracted to don't work well. The alarm notifying you when the driver goes off is not very loud even in the loudest setting. This is OK if you're in the room with the dryer when it goes off, but when a different room, you don't hear it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Laura from Broke after 1st load & still waiting for fix.. Absolutely awful experience. The machine overheated and broke after the first load, someone came and fixed it - said the wires were loose. Broke again after the next load, and someone came and fixed it again saying it was the user interface... now I am waiting for a replacement part that I know won't fix the problem because it is overheating and is unsafe to use. I purchased brand new in April and it is now almost August and I still don't have a dryer, I am told this is the process and to wait for another fix. Absolutely unacceptable.
