Our other microwave was a casualty of Irma so when we finally were ready to replace it, we started searching for a low profile model that would be further away from the cook top. This fits the bill perfectly. The stainless option coordinates well with our existing appliances. Since it is deeper than our previous microwave, I love that there is no handle that sticks out and that the controls are hidden behind the door. And, with the additional depth, the exhaust fan will pull heat/steam from all four burners, not just the ones in the back. Bottom line, great design and exactly what we wanted.

I always wanted one over the stove but the kitchen cabinets were too low. This microwave solved our problem! There’s plenty of space inside but it is not as tall. The controls are inside so it looks so nice. It has 3 fan settings and 2 led light settings, which I really like. All of the presettings that I’ve tried work perfectly. It also has such a pleasant tone when it has completed its task. Thank you whirlpool for being the smart one to make a microwave that is shorter and so intuitive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Slim Profile! My family isn’t the tallest, so reaching over a stove to retrieve microwaved items were always a pain. A month ago, we looked into this slim profile to find that the door is about 4 inches further away from the wall than a standard microwave, which was a huge plus for us. One further benefit is the light under the microwave actually shines on the front of the stove! Additionally, we appreciate being able to have more clearance above the range for taller pots. There is no handle, so you must rely on power and technology to open the door. The tallest item we heat up is a syrup bottle, which requires we remove the lid, but such a little inconvenience when you look at all the convenient features!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Abe2018 from Perfect fit Perfect. This should be the new standard for over the range microwaves. It provides more vertical space to mix larger pots on the back of the range. The vent is very strong, sensing option is perfect. Just be careful with the installation when drilling the correct holes on the wall and at the bottom of the cabinet to have it leveled. The vent hood may be a challange if the exisiting hole on the wall is not aligned with the microwave's vent opening. You need to be creative with the flex tubing rather than the rigid ones. Ours was off by 4 inches on the wall side (horizontal) and 2 inches on the cabinet bottom (inboard/outboard).

Microwave turntable was making loud clicking noise,I notified Whirlpool and they replaced the microwave a little over a year later the digital lights started breaking up, part of the digit would go off and stay of a while then come back on, this went on for a while with all the digits breaking up, eventually all the digits broke up and stayed off. I did not notify whirlpool because the one year warranty was out. I was going to replace the microwave but now find out this model has been discontinued, very frustrating to have had two Whirlpool microwaves that didn’t last but for a couple of years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by YoVennie from Potentially great product but vent issues I searched high and low and selected this model for our kitchen remodeling. We love the look and functionality. Had custom cabinets built just for this low profile model. The problem is that after venting through my roof, the vent blows internally as well. At all fan speeds. Whirlpool Support was unable to help. Said that it was a new model and that they thought it should work that way. Even had a service tech come out who said the same thing. This makes no sense as you still get heat and food smells even though it’s vented outside. Support only gave me an address so that I could write to the Design Group about the problem. Instead of that it’s going back to the vendor. I would love to hear an expert opinion on this.
