We ordered it in September 2018 and the shipping kept getting delayed and I should have cancelled it. Install wasn't hard, that's the only plus side. The controls are very lagging and keep freezing up. When the unit stops responding we have to unplug it to reset it. The convection oven does not cook evenly. I talked to the Lowes customer service dept at the store and because we had it longer than 30 days they said we could not return or exchange it and we would need to file a warranty claim through whirlpool. We should have gone with my gut instinct and bought the Samsung.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Spiceman67 from Door Falling Apart This microwave is great, until the plastic frame inside the door starts splitting and falling apart. Of course we know why they only have a 1-year warranty. The problem is, this door doesn’t have a release that you push to open. You pull, and it opens. The latches on the door put stress on the door as it opens and over time the door starts to separate. No young children in my house as my wife and I are empty nesters. After about 18 months the door plastics starts falling out and opening the door causes the frame to pull apart. What a poorly designed piece of junk. Customer service is all about being out of warranty. Only repair is a new door at over $300!!

The screen will go black or freeze up which requires to climb above and unplug the microwave. The clock randomly changes the time and date incorrectly. Occasionally the microwave will not start cooking even though the timer is counting down as if it is. Again have to unplug and reboot the microwave. And now the Whirlpool app isn't working. This smart microwave is a great concept, but clearly not ready for prime time. I feel like I wasted a lot of money on a non-functional beta product.

Multiple times a week it will either stop in the middle of a cooking cycle, lock up, and eventually reboot. Or sometimes just becomes totally unresponsive and has to be unplugged to reboot. Even then when it boots back up the time will be completely wrong even though it is setup on Wi-Fi and the date/time is set to auto in the app. You have to go into the app, unselect auto time, and then reselect it. I would not recommend this microwave at all. Go with something that doesn’t have Wi-Fi and all the gimmicks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Deonia from Whirlpool Should Be Ashamed We purchased this microwave a year and one month ago. Within the first year, the microwave required major repair. Thankfully it was covered under warranty. After the third repair and problems existed or repeated themselves, it was determined as unrepairable. Between the unit not working at all, to not keeping the date/time, locking settings features, etc etc etc. We were unknowledgeable of what a "Smart" microwave could do, but it didn't. We are not replacing with this unit and have decided to go back with a "Dumb" microwave. This product and the poor service has totally destroyed my faith in the Whirlpool brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by whirlpool_never_again from Worst Appliance of my life This microwave sure does look good. That is all that is does well. We've had problems with this since we moved into our home. We had the main control board replaced, and the door replaced. Neither have fixed the issue of the unit continually rebooting for no apparent reason. Now, just over 2 years of use and it appears the magnetron has gone bad. No heat when using the microwave. What a waste of time. DO NOT buy this "luxury" microwave. Now I have to figure out a way to replace this heap of worthlessness with a matching piece to keep the continuity of our kitchen appliances. I really hate to support a company that is providing junk and not standing behind it. Just read the other reviews, my experience is not a new one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Douger from Worst microwave we have ever owned We bought this microwave last November and it has NEVER worked correctly. Since then we have had at least six service calls. The door and other parts have been replaced but nothing has worked to correct the problem. We contacted Customer Service to ask for a replacement and while they were very sympathetic and stated that they felt it should be replaced they could not authorize a replacement unless Tech Services said it could not be repaired. And there in lies the problem. Tech services are just trying to “run out the clock” on our warranty” so that we do not get a replacement. Worst service we have ever experienced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unbelievably Glitchy from Worst Microwave I've ever experienced Do not waste your money. Since this microwave was installed in my house, on average, the microwave completely freezes up about 1/10 uses. When this happens, the microwave needs to be fully reset- taking several minutes to reboot. Sometimes it also just shuts off mid cycle, leaving you with uncooked food. Today- the microwave started making loud scary electrical popping noises as soon as I turned it on and now I feel unsafe using it. Now I will be replacing a 2.5 year old microwave that cost over $800 in late 2021. Huge buyers remorse- don't make the same mistake as me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Maja from Does not work I owned this microwave for eleven months, and it worked two monts in total. I had two repairs that took 3-4 months wait time for the parts. Now my microwave is almost out of warranty and still does not work. I have asked Whirlpool for a credit towards anothe microwave, or an extension on warranty, they offered 15% off to purchase next microvave. Therefore I paid $1,000 for a microwave that worked two months. The issues seem to be same as other customers are having. The touchpad goes black for weeks at a time. Or microwave keeps rebooting itself every time you try to use it, and you cannot use during the reboot. This product should be pulled off the market if the company cannot find a permanent fix.

We have had multiple failures of the door LCD screen causing the unit to be rendered usless. The LCD screen has lines. We are on our 3rd door replacement and are about to enquire about getting a check back from Whirlpool as this unit is a lemon. The app can be much better as well, while this product could be awsome in many ways, it fails on every level.
