Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT BUY from DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL! Bought this machine 5 years ago. Started shaking violently during spin. Was told to replace rods. Did so for $225 and a few weeks later started to shake again. Reached out to whirlpool to schedule service. Service came for $130 and gave me a price to replace rods and tub almost equal to value of new machine at almost $600. Did not proceed with that recommendation obviously and am considering options if any. Service tech stated that he had never seen a machine shake this violently. Tech did not recommend this machine as he has experienced similar issues frequently with this specific model. He suggested other brand with better build quality. I called whirlpool customer service to discuss but received no help and was told that nothing could be done without warranty. Life expectancy of these machines according to tech is 10-15 years. This machine didn’t get half way there. Poor build quality, plastic parts that deteriorate quickly, poor customer service that refused to assist, expensive repair quotes for parts and labor with no assurance issue would be resolved. Whirlpool should stand by name and replace unit at no cost. If whirlpool doesn’t post this review I will be posting elsewhere for buyers to beware.

During the spin cycle the machine was always making aloud noise, so I called a Whirpool appliance repairman. He told us the balance rods were worn out becasue we bought a machine without the agitator in the center. Instead of paying over $900 for the repair, we bought a new machine for $649.
