Estimated Time Remaining Display

A digital display on the console counts down the amount of time left in the cycle, so you can always know when it's time to remove items from the washer.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great washer! Can't understand all of the bad reviews I have just purchased a Cabrio WTW5700XW and used it all weekend. I have run 10 loads so far and I love the washer. I purchased the unit, then started reading the on line reviews, most of which scared me! I have to say, I have not had a single problem with the washer. Granted, it is NOT anyhere near an "old school" washer but it's not supposed to be. Read the dag gone owner's manuel and you won't hvae any problems!. Each load has come out clean and fresh. No problems with the basket being "unlevel" as I've read in a couple other reviews. If you have an issue with that, it is human error anyway, your error for not loading the machine correctly. I really am baffled by all of the bad reviews, I for one really like this unit! The amount of items you can wash at once is awesome! The modle I have has a clear top, I have watched three loads in full and the load is rolled and moved around the basket, so I find the statement that the clothes stay in one place to be false. Also, the clothes do come out a bit more wrinkled, but unless you war your clothes wet, the dryer takes care of this anyway. Don't believe everything you read, I think it's a great washing machine! Rated 5 out of 5 by Better then my old front loader This washer has been better then my kenmore front loader that was about 2years old. I have not had any of the issues that others have mention. clothing comes out clean and not wrinkled, no left over soap like others are saying. I assuming people are using too much soap this is an HE washer so you are going to us less soap. I find that this washer cleans the clothing more gently then front loaders which is nice since i was having issues with my old clothing ripping in the other washer. November 4, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst washing machine EVER! This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. It does a horrible job of cleaning and it is out of balance all the time. It is poorly built so that the tub slams against the oustide housing anytime it is out of balance, and it is out of balance ALL the time. It can not handle bulky loads at all - a queen size blanket will end up soaking wet sitting in the bottom of this machine and unable to spin. I would NEVER purchase this machine again, and mine is only 6 months old. Worst purchase I every made. I have wasted more energy and water respinning and draining or rewashing loads than I would have if I had bougth a conventional machine. September 30, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Looks good but doesn't work While this machine has the benefits of being an American brand with readily available parts and service, high efficiency, and simple controls, it lacks on the most primary aspect: PERFORMANCE. It simply does not clean. I'n not talking unreasonable stains that no washer could remove but simply chocolate syrup from white dishrag, bike-chain grease from a pair of shorts, mild grass stain from a pair of jeans, etc. I am very dissatisfied with this product and would very much not recommend it to anyone. I am also disheartened that Whirlpool has apparently abandoned the practice of producing products with superior performance. September 17, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by We are very satisfied with this washing machine and highly recommend it. Washing Machine Whirlpool WTW5700XW0 We are very satisfied with this washing machine and highly recommend it. My review is rather long, even though I try to be concise and to the point. When we had to purchase a new washing machine after our last one began to fade after 14 years (and it was already used), we consulted a leading consumer evaluation service. Our final choice was among the top loading 'high efficiency' machines recommended. These new high efficiency machines differ substantially from the older machines. The sounds they make, the cycles they go through, the amount of water they use, are all very different from the older washing machines. We chose this high efficiency model for these reasons: 1) it was highly recommended by the consumer evaluation service 2) it is rated Cier 3 3) it has a glass top The competitor (for us) cost another $100 for a glass top and was cier 2 (a lower rating). That clinched it for us to get the Whirlpool rather than the (xxx). I really wanted to get the xxx because that brand has served my family well for more then sixty years, and it was the brand of the machine we were replacing. But to pay $100 more to get a lesser efficiency rated machine just for the glass top? -- well, not this time. We were at first disconcerted with the noises but especially the low amount of water the Whirlpool uses. Never mind the different noises, we wondered how our clothes could possibly be cleaned with a level of water that never rose above the top of the clothes! Let me mention here that we are very happy with the glass top, which permits us to see the washer in action. Without the glass top, I would be constantly stopping, looking, and restarting, without seeing what is actually transpiring. Through the glass top we could see that the clothes are moved rigorously through the solution of water and detergent; so the manufacturer's statement that detergent is efficiently delivered makes sense. We rarely use a dryer unless it rains unceasingly for days and days; we hang out clothes to dry on a clothesline. After three months with our new washing machine I state unequivocally that whether dried on the clothesline or in the dryer, our clothes are at least as clean and fresh as before, and to my mind, better. I have wondered why reviews are all over the map: some claim the product is the best ever and others the worst ever. Sometimes complaints are handled well, sometimes not. Those that are not handled well lead to justifiably bad reviews. So how does one consider the bad reviews that are complaints not about a defective product, but rather about the product itself? I think -- and this is just my personal opinion -- that most complaints arise from not understanding how this very different machine works. If I look at the water level, for instance, and think this can never ever get my clothes clean, well then it may be that no matter how clean my clothes actually are I won't believe they are clean. As for the rest (I think a minor remainder), I have no explanation or speculative explanation. I would say, 'Give it a real chance. If that doesn't do it for you, seek recourse: get a replacement, another model, or go back'. I would rather not have anyone go back, because the water savings are significant. July 5, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible product I purchased the matching washer and dryer in Sep 2010 at Lowes in Dothan, Alabama. I expressed my disappointment at the store and was told I'd get accustomed to it's operation. The washer is noisy, doesn't get my clothes clean or rinsed unless I use the bulky wash. All cycles, except delicate, twist and snarl the clothes so badly that it's difficult to separate them and get out the wrinkles. It also gets 'uneven' load pauses, even on small loads, never corrects itself. Almost always spins clothes to one side of the washer (it is level). I am retired, on a fixed income and stuck with a very poor and expensive product. The dryer is too noisy also. I regret not buying the front load efficiency Samsung!! January 18, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by I hate, hate, hate this washing machine! You have to babysit the washer! Who has time for that. EVERY load has a UL (unbalanced load) error. You have to lift the lid, close the lid and push start to get the washer to continue. Yes, I have read the manual and loaded it correctly. I don't even have to rearrange the load when I get the error. I just have to restart. It is always at the 10 minute mark. Also, the clothes are soooo wrinkled and wound so tight. I hate washing sheets in it. Actually, I hate washing anything in it. I use liquid fabric softener and the softnener is always still sitting in the dispenser when the wash is complete. I have to pour hot water in the fabric softener dispenser before every wash to unclog it for the next use. There is nothing about this machine that I like. I will never buy anything Whirlpool again. This washing machine is hard on clothes and still doesn't get them clean. August 8, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bought Washer & Dryer in 2008; PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS This is the second repair call for the Cabrio Washer. I spent $207.00 on the first call. I am not sure what this next repair visit is going to cost. I have a problem with unbalanced no matter how small the load. The mother board has been replaced; not sure what this next problem is going to be. I have a scheduled repair call for 10/8/2012; after this if I am still having problems I plan to replace it. Pretty soon my repair bill will be as mush as I paid for this washer. It cost $899.00 in 2008. (I am quite sure it should last longer than 4 years.) I will never buy another Whirlpool washer again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! October 6, 2012
