Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor choice in refrigerators My fridge went out a month ago and I panicked because I had just restocked everything. I looked online at a large furniture/appliance store and saw this relatively inexpensive model. It happened to be one that they could deliver the next day so I bought it based on that. I had never bought a Whirlpool appliance before in my life, but thought that they had a good reputation. Not seeing it in person was a disadvantage, but I am disabled and not able to get around to do this kind of shopping. Plus everything in my old freezer was defrosting. I should have paid more attention to the details but I needed a new one urgently. First of all, it's unattractive. Very square corners and door handles don't line up. And both doors slam back all the way open if you open them too far. Also they don't give you enough white covers to cover all the holes if they have to switch the handle to the other side. Then I noticed that it uses the MOST energy on the Energy Guide. Also, the butter container at the top of the door has a clear plastic door that flips up and slams back loudly and doesn't leave enough space to put a butter dish in it. So I took the plastic flip-up door off and that gives me more space to get the butter in. All in all I feel it is very poorly designed, very unattractive and poorly made and I regret very much buying it. I will, however, take part of the responsibility due to the fact that I made this purchase in such haste. I just didn't realize they made refrigerators like this. So partly my bad.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Features Removed Whirlpool is not alone. I could not find what I wanted in any other brand. I have space limitations so perhaps the features I wanted were available in other larger models, although my old fridge had them No light in freezer....what were you thinking? No ice cube area, so I took the one out of my old fridge. Freezer door has shelves so narrow.....not much will fit in them. Veggie bins are so much smaller than my old fridge. Have a problem with some things freezing on bottom shelf. To the people who run Whirlpool and make the decisions which affect the consumer, you are contributing to the "Cheapening of America", along with a lot of other companies.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This products interior is poorly manufactured. I just received it and unpacked it and the doors plastic shelving units rattle. They show this caddie which you can not utilize unless you remove it each and every time you want to put something in it. It does not come out with ease. The vegetable draws are so thin and you really can not regulate them. The light bulb got very hot while we were unwrapping everything. I really thought this was going to be an improvement. Maybe it is time to reevaluate this product. I am disappointed. This will be my last Whirlpool product I purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trusted Name.Great Price. Crisp Veggiesm You can't really appreciate an appliance until it stops working. My last refrigerator lasted 6 1/2 years. When it kicked the bucket, it went out with a bang. First it cried for help with an annoying humming noise. Then, like all of us after a certain age, it would wet the floor sporadically. I had no choice but to get a new one. I picked a Whirlpool with a top freezer. I wasn't looking for fancy but something g that works. It is however so much more. There are compartments and drawers that don't stick nor have to be jiggle to open. It's quiet and my food stays just the right temp. I guess you could say it's pretty cool. (Pun intended)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fridge Excellent features, quiet, single thermostat control works as well as any dual control in refrigerators costing twice as much as this product. I checked the temperature consistency with a highly accurate thermometer for two weeks. Once the temp control is set for the surrounding conditions, about two days to stabilize with proper setting ( environmental, amount of food in fridge under most scenarios, etc ) the temperature remains at a constant 0 to -2 degrees F in freezer section and a steady 35 to 36 degrees F in fridge section on all shelves from top to bottom. Good product for the price. I would highly recommend this fridge for folks looking for a good looking basic fridge, who do not require unnecessary bells and whistles. Like the large butter compartment and the soda can shelf. The only addition I would like to have had would have been a light in the freezer compartment. We can live just fine without it. Overall, very satisfied thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks More Expensive Than It is. Had to buy a refrigerator in a hurry and needed to be budget conscious. After shopping several stores we came across this model. For just a slight amount more than the entry level fridge in this capacity we selected this Whirlpool. The surface design and finish is very sleek. The doors have a slight curvature to them that gives it the look of a more expensive model. The interior shelves are spacious and nicely arranged and the operation is very quite. I was about to plunk down a few hundred more for another brand not nearly as eye catching. I couldn't be happier. Thanks Whirlpool for making design affordable!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big disappointment Wanted just a basic fridge/freezer with lots of storage space. This model provides that, but product is cheaply made. Quality is a big step down from previous fridge by Whirlpool affiliate that lasted 18 years. Deli drawer often comes off tracks and storage unit for cans in the door is constantly sliding forward. Drawers and plastic storage bins on door are cheap materials. After just 3 months had to have thermostat replaced as ice cream not hard even at highest temp setting; still not happy with temps, especially in freezer compartment. Will never buy another with only 1 control for both compartments. Not sure there's anything else out there that would be better, but this purchase is a definite disappointment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the basics very well This fridge doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but that's not what I was looking for. I was looking for a basic refrigerator that has decent capacity, acceptable noise levels, and keeps food cold. It does all of these well. I appreciate that the interior is clear so that I can see right where everything is and it doesn't seem dark. I appreciate the capacity on the doors and so far it seems to be constructed well enough to take the abuse of my kids. My only complaint is there is one slide out tray on the door that seems to want to open up on it's own all the time. I can't figure out the usefulness of this feature. This is such a minor annoyance I almost didn't mention it.
