by Holmes504 Wonderful product for the price value
My product was great, I got this product for $450 due to sale at retailer, additional price match from another retailer and then a small dent in the back corner when delivered and accepted to keep product and received an additional $75 gift card in mail from Whirlpool in lieu of replacement. I will continue to purchase all Whirlpool products. I am building a home right now and will be buying a new washer / dryer and Refrigerator...they will all be Whirlpool brand. I have never had any issues with Whirlpool products. In the past two years I bought this Range, a washer / dryer, dishwasher, Hood vent and Refrigerator...All wonderful!!!

Nice range, nice features at this price point. We like the sealed top for easy cleaning. Like the light in the oven... didn't have that in the past. Find that the oven takes a long time to reach the set temperature, but then maintains the temperature consistently. The timer has been a little difficult to get to work in a user friendly manner. Maybe I'll read the book, again. Set the temp on the oven, once it reached temp, then set the timer for 25 minutes, for the first part of the baking. When the timer rang, it prompted to 'Exit', which I did, (which also turned off the oven). Set the timer for another 20 minutes, and found the oven was not lit that entire time. Didn't ruin the pie, but it was annoying. Found that baking biscuits for 14 minutes, per the package instructions, produces biscuits that are perfect. Last oven would cook them at whatever temp it wanted to and they inevitably came out like little hockey pucks!! We like having this new oven.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrownEyedSusan Good Value for Money
I have had 3 gas ranges over the years and this one seems fine - good value for money. I noticed a more "gassy" smell on ignition of oven than I am used to. Drawer on bottom difficult to remove and replace, which is a drag since I have a cat who flips her toys under there all the time. There is also a learning curve to the controls. I find it irritating that there are extra steps. For example, with my old oven you just hit oven and set the temp. For this one you have to add hitting the start button. At least the display does remind you to press start. But my feeling is, if it knows start is needed, why doesn't it just do it itself? All that said, I like the stove. Oven bakes evenly. I tested with a separate thermometer and temp is right on target and there do not seem to be hot spots in the oven (even heating) Burners work fine and are easy to clean. Window in door is big and light inside shows entire oven, which past stoves did not do as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ver24x Wish The Timer Didn't Control the Oven
I like the electronic controls, for the most part.
I regularly check my oven with a thermometer, and as you get near the top of the oven, the temp is significantly higher than the middle part: 25-50 degrees higher. So the only real place to cook is directly in the middle. Even the real old oven models didn't have that much variance.
The large oven portion means you can cook several dishes at once.
The stove top burners (FINALLY!) have been made sealed off to the underside, thus preventing liquids from building up inside. This model also has different size burners-from a very small one for light duty to one gigantic burner for big pans and/or big jobs.
My one complaint is when you pre-heat the oven and start the timer, the timer will turn the oven off when it's finished. I'm sure there must be a way to disconnect the two functions but I haven't figured it out yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DMBDWB Disappointing to me
I have replaced my Kenmore stove with the Whirlpool. I am sorry I didn't look further for a gas stove. I have had the repairman here twice since I purchased the stove.(with in four months of purchase). Both times were because the oven would not ignite. When you are ready for dinner and the time bake did not work, it can be VERY DISAPPOINTING to say the least. The whole lower igniting feature was finally replaced, after the repairman had multiple calls on the same feature, but I was the first one he had received and when I called the second time he came and replaced the ignitor and burner. Another feature I do not like is the easiness of which the upper burner knobs can be turned on without you knowing that they have been turned. It just take standing to close to the knobs and turning your body. Not good. If and when I need to replace this stove I am sure I will look at a different model and make. I also do not like the cheaper made below oven drawer. You can not put anything with any weight to it in this drawer. Awful design feature to make the stove cheaper on your part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carryon So easy to use.
I'm not one to read directioons other than the safety information, so I tried every intricate way to launch the range's features. I finally gave up in defeat and decided I'd better read the directions. The operation was so simple and easy and logical that had I started there I would have saved much time and consternation.
I really like this range. It has a sleek, uncluttered look. I always forget to hit "start" after entering the mode of cooking. It reminds me with a pleasant beep. I'd had self-cleaning on my last oven, but hadn't used it.The first day I had this range, I managed to spill sauce on the oven floor. I used the self-clean button and was suprised and pleased when it finished and the oven floor looked as clean as when I first brought it home.
Love the bottom drawer for storing pans.

Rated 3 out of 5 by cookie4 Nice Features but overall quality lacking...
This gas range is similar on paper to my previous gas range which is good, it is what I wanted. Price was great and whirlpool came recommended as decent quality. The problem is, quality is less than expected. burners are very difficult to clean and i have ordered and tried EVERYTHING whirlpool reps have suggested. (Though, admittedly, these reps felt under informed to me.) Also the metal used to construct the appliance is thin and noisy when the heat is on and gets very hot when the oven is on. In addition the racks in the oven are super weak and thin and bow in the middle when a heavy casserole is placed on them, making me wonder how they will handle a 25 lb. turkey at thanksgiving. Last, but certainly not least, the surface on the stove top chips really easily. I have already had to send away for touch up paint and used it three times so far!!
On the plus side the features are nice and burners are responsive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hayhen Love this stove!
Yes, I'm writing this review in the hopes of winning a new washer & dryer because the WAY overpriced one I bought at SEARS (boo!) is dying after only a few years. HOWEVER... although it is a pretty basic model -- no double oven, built in griddle or other fancy smancy business -- the features it does have are pretty great. The AccuSimmer burner can be turned down to such a low heat that my hollandaise doesn't scorch while I toast the forgotten English Muffins. Then there's the big burner that can bring a pot of water to boil in nothin' flat. At first the timer/clock/oven settings had me confused, I was trying to make it harder than it is. I like how I can set an exact temperature and the beeper (one of the less annoying ones I've heard, by the way) politely lets me know the oven is at temperature. OH!!! I almost forgot! The broiler in my old gas stove was in the bottom, where the drawer for the pans is supposed to be, THIS one is where it should be - IN the oven. I know it doesn't sound like something to get excited about, but cooking that close to the floor is just ooky.
So, ya, I would recommend this stove to whomever's looking to change over from the dreaded electric, updating their appliances or outfitting a new house like we did.
Can I have my washer and dryer now?
Just kidding! Enjoy your stove!!
