Very Nice with 2 small exceptions.. We are VERY satisfied with the new dishwasher... It is so quiet when we first got it we opened t to make sure it was actually running! A few things to keep in mind: 1. The first time you do a load it may take HOURS... It states this in the manual, but had we not read it, would have thought something was wrong. Loads have been far shorter since. 2. Dishwasher takes longer than our old one... Again, from reading specs online, it's due to the energy efficiency. Given the dishwasher is so outstandingly quiet, I can't see this being an issue unless you needed something inside in a quick turn-around. 3. (An our only REAL complaint). We tested in-store for fingerprints.. No idea if they put something on the stainless or if there is a worker with a polishing cloth coming behind every guest, but in store no issues with fingerprints -- at home you look at the front of it and I swear it gets a smudge... Thus I now polish the front of the appliances about once a day. Otherwise, it's a great machine!! February 12, 2013
Repairs required 18 months after purchase My machine was installed on 11-21-2011. I have found the location of the buttons on the top of the door to be inconvenient and the constant manual cleaning of the filter and screens inside the unit to be a nuisance. Soap quickly clogs up all the openings of the filter and screen and soon the areas are black from mold - even with regular use, HOT WATER, periodic add-in of vinegar and bleach. As I write this review on 5-28-2013, 18 months since purchase, I am awaiting a repairman to fix the pump which sprays the dishes. It has completely failed and the unit does not work. Sears has said to fix it, one must buy a 1yr. service agreement for over $229. This; in addition to the cost of the unit, installation, installation kit, etc. have now run up to almost $1,200! DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. May 28, 2013
Incredibly quiet with very good performance This is a great dishwasher. The door top controls bring a clean, uncluttered look in the kitchen. It gets the dishes clean and is incredibly quiet in operation. There are dishwashers that might be quieter numerically, but anything quieter wouldn't really be noticeable. A change from our last dishwasher that I really appreciate is fewer rack choices. You may think more choices is good, but it comes at the cost of little plastic clips to break and get lost, release latches that get caught on a glass being put in the dishwahser so one side of the rack falls down when you don't want it to. This one is simpler and still plenty flexible for loading. In this case a simple design in an improvement. I'll close this as I opened it - this is a great dishwasher! May 6, 2013
Overall, good purchase.... not perfect, but a good product We bought this dishwasher because of the positive reviews on its noise level. We are replacing a LOUD cheap dishwasher. This dishwasher is much much quieter then the one we replaced- but not as quiet as I was thinking it would be. My biggest gripe about this dishwasher is that I dont care for the silverware holder in the door- its too hard to load this way. I have also noticed that some of my silverware doesn't get clean and i need to run it through again. The top cover on the silverware holder that is supposed to keep your silverware separate is a joke- the holes are TINY! The dry feature on the dishwasher works ok- again, not perfectly dry (the plastics at least) but much much better then the dishwasher we replaced. In order for the dry feature to work it is imperative that the rinse agent be added- otherwise, the dry feature doesn't work well at all. Overall, i am happy with my new dishwasher- for the price, i feel it is a decent value and a good solid machine. :) February 9, 2013
The outside features are beautiful, takes large loads of dishes, it's so quite and cleans dishes GREAT! We are very pleased with our 'new' Whirlpool dishwasher and the price is so reasonable. It's beautiful ... We can't believe how quite it runs ... We never had a dishwasher clean our dishes so well. We have always been pleased with Whirlpool appliances and plan to buy ONLY Whirlpool appliances in the future. April 25, 2013
Great all around To start, we were replacing a GE Nautilus, which was a very low end contractors grade dishwasher. While shopping around, we considered a wide variety of makes, models and prices. We found this dishwasher at hhgregg and compared it to a somewhat similar GE Adora at Home Depot (that we very nearly bought). In the end, we chose the Whirlpool and we are glad that we did. I installed the unit myself, someone with less than average diy skills. I had to install a new water tap to match the difference in size of the existing water line vs the new line, which wasn't a problem. Total installation time was about 90 minutes, and that was taking my time. My only beef with the installation was that Whirlpool does not include the 90 elbow which is required for installation. In the end, we chose this product based on the door located silverware basket, design, and features. In use, the dishwasher is extremely quiet, has a very large capacity, and cleans extremely well. Cycle times are somewhat on the long side, but its ok knowing that the dishes will be clean or sanitized. We use the sensor cycle, which automatically adjusts the cleaning cycle based on how clean or dirty the dishes are. All in all a great product and value. January 27, 2012
Great dishwasher but needs additional anyware basket I loved my new dishwasher until I realized the very small anyware basket was the only silverware basket. I thought it was just missing additional baskets untl the Whirlpool representative informed me that it only comes with the one. They advertise 14 place settings fit but they are only talking plates as there is no way for 14 knives, forks & spoons to fit in that little basket & actually get clean. I'm using the basket from my old machine which doesn't match but it fits everything. The dishwasher looks great, runs quite and cleans great if you don't try to jam all your silverware into that one little basket. I would have rated it higher if Whirlpool supplied another basket. Great overall value Now having the dishwasher for six weeks, I have to say it is a solid purchase. Having did much research with other major dishwasher brands with comparable features, this model came out on top. The unit is well built and eventhough my other appliances are another brand, the stainless steel and pull down handle with the hidden controls blends in very nicely. After experimenting with the different modes I found that the eco wash and eco dry were the most queitest and the most efficient of the choices. You have to be right next to it to know it's on. The silverware basket is a little on the thin side, but have had no problems loading. We have a water softener but I still highly recommend using the rinse agent as suggested. It makes the stainless steel tub come out shiney and more importantly dry. By the way as with all stainless appliances keep the stainless steel cleaner handy. There will smudges and fingerprints February 9, 2013
