Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poor display, top scars, otherwise good oven The primary problem I have with this oven is that you have to be standing next to it to see the display (oven temp, etc.). The display is angled upward. It would be much better if it were angled more downward so you could see it from other places in the kitchen. The second issue I have with it is that the glass on top scars very easily. We are not rough on appliances. The glass cook top scarred almost immediately from the pans placed on it. By this I mean there are now rings on the burners where pits have been placed for cooking. Our old cook top lasted almost 20 years and didn't scar like this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic stove, cooks great, looks great, - A winner! Summary - This stove cooks great, has nice features, is easy to use, and looks great too. I love my new stove. It looks good and works wonderfully. And I got a good deal on it at a local “ma 'n pa” type of appliance store that matched the big box sale price and gave me full service, plus I received a $100 rebate from Whirlpool. It pays to shop around some. Here are some comments of pros and cons on style, ergonomics, function and “fit”. Style – The ceramic cooktop is recessed with a border that looks more like traditional range top, unlike most others where the cooktop is flat from end to end. You have to love it or not, I think it's fine. The cooktop is shiny black and this goes well with the stainless finish of the front, and mixes into my kitchen well with other black appliances. In other words, you can go with black or stainless appliances with this one. Since the range top is glossy though, expect to polish it a lot. The burner make-up is a little stingy but functional. There are 4 basic burners and two are limited to 6” diameter. Other stoves at this price point have more flexible option such as griddle burners and sometimes 5 burners. One burner is 12” and will be of limited value unless you cook for a crew I think. The control panel is glass except for the buttons. This is a lot nicer than some of the all-soft panel controls, and it cleans well. The trim around the control panel is nicely done too, I like it better than GE or Frigidaire models that I had looked at. Ergonomics – The control panel is tilted so it's very accessible (and harder for little ones to get to#. You don't have to bend over to see what you're setting. I passed on other stoves where the controls were not angled much. The oven control is simplified and laid out rather nicely. The buttons are labeled clearly and the purpose is fairly intuitive and obvious without a lot special and obscure functions that see little use. The knobs though for the burners are mediocore. The print is small, and when there's a dual-burner, the knob has to control both, so there's less fine adjustment. The real beef I have with the knobs is that they are indications for “Hi”, “Lo” and a symbol for medium with nothing in between. The single element burners use “MED” in the middle setting. Makes for some guesswork. Maybe someone has done this, but it seems instead of controlling two burners in one turn of the knob, there should be a method to switch a burner on, then give full range of control of it in a single turn. Makes sense to me. Function – There are 3 racks in the oven and one of them is split so that you can remove half of the rack. I haven't figured out what to use this for but I suppose it might be useful. The oven has a “hidden element” in the bottom to make cleanup easy. The oven window and good lighting make for easy viewing inside. The digital control and display takes all guesswork out of the temperature setting. If only some of this functionality had transferred to the cooktop control. Setting the timer is easy but canceling it can be puzzling. Although it may seem intuitive to press the “cancel” button, it doesn't work. Instead, you have to put the timer on hold, set the timer for “0” #zero) and restart it. Hey, this is a computer, why not program it either way? One other thing about the clock, you can only set it in whole minutes. Would be nice to add 30 seconds sometimes. One thing I found surprising was that a fan came in when doing just regular baking. I believe this is for the oven vent. I would expect this for convection cooking but didn't for normal baking. If there's other background noise it's not too noticeable though. More an observation than anything. Fit – I looked at installation for a lot of ovens because I was working with a limited space. I **really** wish these manufacturers would give you the actual dimensions of the range instead of just the cutout. That aside, the stove simply sticks out too far. The installation forgets to factor in a counter overhang. This leaves about an inch back from the over door which presents another issue. That is, the side panels have four holes on each side about a half-inch. These appear to be for ease of assembly, but they leave them exposed. I did not se this in any other stove I looked at, it's a mystery to me why the engineers didn't see this. There are a few other areas I've noticed where things don;t quite fit fully flush. They don;t detract unless by close inspection, still, can be annoyance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convection Oven I bought this after having successfully purchased other Whirlpool appliances. It does look well in my kitchen but it has not quite lived up to my expectations. I find the smooth surface very difficult to keep clean as well as being unable to remove the knobs to clean beneath them. Also when the burners are set on the lowest heat they seem to be hotter than what I have been used to with all past ranges. I like the folding oven shelves. I don't like the look of the drawer beneath the oven: it doesn't look like it is installed fully and seems to have too large a gap below the oven. We have tried removing and reinstalling it several times but it is as good as it gets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a good quality range that cooks with precision The range cook top is quick to heat and is very response to the heat controls considering that it is electric and won't be as quick to heat or cool as gas, but it boils a small pot of water in just over a minute. The oven also is spacious and it's really to helpful to have the three racks. I haven't been too impressed with the convection roasting, but I love the convection bake and use all the time. It does cut down on cooking time. A couple of things I was disappointed with. When the range came, and they slid it into the space, there's actually a 2" gap in the back because of the convection fan. So the oven sticks out from the wall. When I ordered this from Best Buy the salesperson didn't know and neither did I until I saw it. Whirlpool does sell a range filler, but it's an additional cost and it should be bought before the range is in place because it needs to be screwed in place. Also, the timer is unusually loud and has almost a piercing like tone. Unfortunately there's no way to control the sound. Also, when the timer ends, it doesn't redisplay the clock time, it just says "End", which I think is lousy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Digital Panel gave up after 4 years The digital panel doesn't respond to "bake, light, 6, 9 and 0" It's only been four years. Also, out of warranty. Not impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like how it looks in my kitchen and it just slide into the space I liked this stove when I ordered it but when it came I sent it back because of a manufacture defect and had to wait 2wks for the new one to come now that the new one is here it took me a while to get use to it and learn all the features I really like the stove my only complaint is the burner design and it takes to long for the oven to preheat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the locking feature Our 3 year old loves opening and closing doors. SoI love the electronic locking feature. It locks the oven door and all buttons. Having a spill edge is nice too. I only gave it an average for performance because it does what a stove is supposed to do (like any other). Haven't used the convection feature yet so performance may change :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product has good features but performance could be better I like the product features and the durable ceramic cooktop, with burners that heat up fast. The only complaint I have is about the convection oven. I had expected it to do a better job when having multiple trays of food in there, but cooking has been uneven and the top seems to cook faster than the bottom.
